The beauties of our PHP
upload script
John was a
relative newcomer to the internet and he was delighted by
the things available on the net. He had a relative idea
about scripts and how they were used, but he was not an
expert. In fact he was just beginning to grasp how scripts
helped ease the tasks of website owners and appreciated that
he did not have to learn all about telnet, ftp and other
things. Once the script is configured he and his friends who
would visit the website would have no problems in uploading
their files on his website. You see, he wanted to build
another file sharing site. He had already got his domain
name and had booked space with a website hosting agency.
He had also
completed the html design of his website and was pleased
with the same. There were a few things that were missing,
but once his friends had access to the site, they would
upload the relevant files and make necessary corrections as
required. He just integrated the php upload script he had
downloaded from one of the various sites and since these
that site had guaranteed that the script would work
perfectly, he did not even bother to test the same. He will
be facing a surprise very soon. Unknown to him and even to
many other experienced webmasters, not all scripts work well
from the word `go’. They have to be debugged many times to
find out their fault before they are ready for use.
By the time
this has been done, the webmaster has already wasted lots of
precious time and most probably, shall not have his website
up and running on schedule. John did not have any idea about
such things; hence he was not aware of the pitfalls he would
have to face. He did not know that he should have gone for
scripts from (name of organization) to assure that
these scripts worked flawlessly from the word go. When his
website was up and running his friends found out the flaws
in the design of the same and uploaded the corrected
versions to their respective folders. Now the website would
look much better. They were amazed to see that the website
had deteriorated.
On looking at the source John found out that corrections had not been uploaded to their respective folders at all. It did not take him long to figure out that the php upload script was the culprit. This script was supposed to upload files to their respective folders on the website from the uploader’s pc. Not only were the files being transferred to different folders, some of the files was not being transferred at all. If you do not want to face the same situation like John did, it is recommended that you use our php upload scripts. They are the best available on the net and assure you that you can start your work without any delay as soon as you install them. There is no need to debug them and in case of any problems, our teams of experts are there to guide you.
